封面所示为德国东弗里斯兰地区的暴雨。通常情况下，评估气候变化造成的经济影响不包括日降雨量。在本期《自然》中，Leonie Wenz和她的同事表明，降雨天数和极端日降雨量的上升会让经济增长率下降。研究团队分析了过去40年里，世界上1554个地区的次国家级地方经济产出。他们还发现，高收入国家和服务及制造业受日降雨量的影响最大。研究作者认为，气候变化造成的极端降雨将不利于全球经济发展。
