The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the green Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and inter-institute cooperation.
Secretary General Li Baodong pointed out that the BRI cooperation has achieved fruitful results in the past decade and effectively promoted the infrastructure construction and economic and social development in the participating countries. For the next decade, participating countries will jointly promote high-quality and sustainable development. Green development, including green products, markets, and lifestyles, will be important elements of this endeavor. Li Baodong highly praised GGGI for its achievements in promoting global green growth.
Frank Rijsberman said that, as an important global initiative, the BRI proposed by China has brought significant international influence over the past ten years. Many GGGI member countries have joined or are in the process of joining the BRI family, and the green component of the BRI projects has been constantly increasing. Mr. Rijsberman hopes that China’s green technologies and finance will further benefit the BRI participating countries over the next decade. GGGI is willing to further strengthen cooperation with the Boao Forum for Asia and contribute to the construction of the green BRI.
